The following Newsgroups & Mailing lists are a good source for advanced developers who want to talk with other developers over the whole world. Try to post your questions in one of the listed forums to get valuable answers from developers, MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals) and sometimes Microsoft staff. But keep in mind that these resources are not an official support channel of Microsoft. If you have encountered a real bug in one of those products, you have to contact Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS). If you are looking for a mailing list about a specific topic try to search CataList, the official catalog of LISTSERV lists.

Microsoft Exchange Server Discussion List. The most valuable resource with more than 3000 subscribers. Formerly operated by Peter Bowyer now operated by Steven Wynkop at SWYNK.COM. This mailing list is dedicated to all Exchange admin stuff and does have some high valued subscribers who can help you with most of your questions. The fact that Microsoft has subscribed this mailing list into some public folders of their Exchange Organization shows how important this mailing list is for Microsoft.

Sunbelt Exchange Mailing List. Sunbelt Software hosts this list to invite the free and open discussion of Microsoft Exchange Administration Issues. This list is intended to be a forum to discuss how to keep Exchange up & running in a production environment, and as help to pass the Exchange Certification Exams. Note that you can also access this list via a newsreader when you only want to lurk around. See link below.

Exchange 2000 Mailing List. Exchange 2000 related mailing list open to discuss anything related to Exchange 2000. Hosted by Martin Tuip a member of the CDOLive team.

SharePoint Portal 2001 Server Mailing List. SharePoint Portal 2001 Server related mailing list open to discuss anything related to SharePoint Portal 2001 Server (formerly code named 'Tahoe'). Hosted by Martin Tuip a member of the CDOLive team.

Digital Dashboard Mailing List. Digital Dashboard related mailing list open to discuss anything related to Microsoft Digital Dashboard development.

ASP Mailing List. This mailing list is dedicated to Microsoft Active Server Pages. If you are developing a project using CDO on top of Microsoft Internet Information Server using Active Server Pages this mailing list can be helpful.

ASPlists.com. A huge list of ASP related mailing lists can be found here, including JScript, VB components, database access and more.

MAPI Mailing List. This mailing list is dedicated to the Microsoft Extended Messaging API (MAPI). Sometimes a developer can find useful information about CDO here.

ADSI Mailing List. This mailing list is dedicated to Microsoft Active Directory Services Interface. If you are developing a project using ADSI this mailing list can be helpful.

IIS Lists - Support Central for IIS. IIS Lists are moderated to keep noise low and content on topic. If you can't find the topic you are after, just post a message to the general IIS 4 list.

Microsoft Outlook Users Mailing List. The Outlook users mailing list is for Microsoft Outlook 97, 98 and 2000 users. You are welcome to discuss anything related to Microsoft Outlook 97, Outlook 98 or Outlook 2000. This is not a mailing list for Outlook Express, which is an entirely different product.
